Most people are very aware that energy efficiency improvement is crucial to a sustainable energy future. However, many are unaware that electric motors and motor driven systems (including pumps, fans and compressors) within the industrial and commercial arena comprise 40% of the world’s total electricity consumption. There is existing, new and future legislation, as well as new and existing technologies, that offer the potential to reduce the energy demand of motor systems across the global economy by as much as 30%.
The Motor Driven Systems Conference will provide a forum to discuss and debate the latest developments on the impact of electrical motor systems on energy and the environment. The energy efficiency policies and programmes adopted and planned, and the technical and commercial advances being made in the dissemination and penetration of energy-efficient motor systems will also be addressed.
The conference will include sessions where key representatives from the UK government together with motor driven system organisations, manufacturers and technical experts will present their views. All papers will address existing, new and future developments and will be generic in nature, with the key areas of Legislation, Standardisation, System Strategies and Technologies being tackled.
The Motor Driven Systems (MDS) Conference – 9/10th November 2011, St. Johns Hotel, Solihull, UK
